"How I do love the earth.

I feel it thrill under my feet. -

- I feel somehow as if it

were conscious of my love,

This one is worth an enlarging 'click'

- as if something passed into
my dancing blood from it."
James Russell Lowell

People Doing the Dumb Things I Did

It is the cheapest of
pleasures, costs nothing,
and conveys much."

even change a life. -

- Your willingness to
put it into words is
all that is necessary."
                Margaret Cousins

Here's to the people
doing the stupid things
that I used to do.

Wish I could reach you,
would be great if
I could teach you,
to show you,
to KNOW you.

But I watch it go by
though little escapes
my eye;
I send you with indulgence
and a little bit of grace
making peace with myself
over my own rudeness
when I was coming from
that very same place.

So there's hope for everyone.

The Bravest Wisest Age

A  L  O  H  A !
Monday in the Pond with George

"I have reached an age when,
if someone tells me to wear
socks, I don't have to."
            Albert Einstein

Einstein was up the road
at Princeton when I was growing up in that area. Despite his genius, I do recall some people disapproving of  his habit of
not wearing socks. Even as I kid, I wanted to tell them: "He's a genius who's changed our world with his thoughts. What have YOU done with your proper attire?!"
Never did. Wanted too. Thinking about it now, this insight
is what gave me the courage to let my freak flag fly in many ways back in the "Hippie" days. Thank You Einstein!

Oh My Windy Windy Feathers

"How old would you be if you
didn't know how old you was?"
             Satchel Paige

Another One in the Books

"Too many people,
when they get old,
think that they have to
live by the calendar."
                          John Glenn

US Senator (and pioneering astronaut)
Glenn went on a mission aboard
the U.S. Space Shuttle at age 77

Here's to senior's.
They've been through a lot!
No one has the experience they've got.
Whoever, wherever; Deserving respect.
Zen like they savor This Minute - Today
with deep courage and gratitude
just keeping along the way.
